Avoca Hockey Club is running a FREE 4 week ‘Give Hockey a Go’ programme for 6-13 yr old boys. The course will consist of 4 weekly training sessions at Newpark Comprehensive School on Sunday afternoons from 4.30pm-5.30pm, starting on Sunday the 7th April 2024.
Hockey is a popular team sport which promotes both physical and mental health, with an emphasis on teamwork, discipline and sportsmanship. It also encourages social interaction among peers, particularly teens. Our junior boys section is growing from strength to strength and the teams train every Sunday afternoon on a new state-of-the-art hockey pitch in Newpark.
The boys will need a mouth guard and shin pads. They are welcome to bring their own hockey stick, but we can provide one if needed. No previous hockey experience is required and beginners are very welcome.
